-The usual processing time which is taken for the Aadhaar card ranges between 60 to 90 days. In some cases, it could take a bit longer due to the stringent verification process followed and it also depends upon the time taken by the respective authorities.

-In case there are any issues found for an application during verification, corrective actions are taken wherever possible, else a rejection letter asking the resident to re-enroll is dispatched through post.

Process of Aadhar enrollment for children aged 3-15

The process of Aadhar enrollment becomes slightly elongated when it comes to developing an Aadhar for children.

-In the process of Aadhaar, age is not a bar. An individual of any age can apply for Aadhaar number. A child of age less than 3 years does not require giving biometric information and in this case Aadhaar will be linked to the parents or guardian of that child. However, that child needs to give his/her biometric information when he is of 5 years in age.

– For a child who has enrolled for Aadhaar and is of the age of 5 to 15 years has to give his/her biometric information again when his/her age becomes 15 years. This process of re-registering is necessary because the biometrics of a person changes with age. This is because the biometrics of a person become different when he is a child and when he will be an adult.

What is Aadhar Card?

If you are a permanent resident in India, your identification documents must necessarily be compiled and updated from time to time. Many a times, Indian residents have been finding difficulty when it comes to the validity and maintenance of certain documents which are required in the process of their personal identification procedures.
In India, it is specifically suggested to carry any of your identification documents no matter where you go.
Due to the recent hassles which were being encountered in the complicated process of identification, the government of India came up with the concept of an Aadhar Card since the few recent years.aadhar card sapmle

The Aadhaar card is a 12-digit distinct identification code which has been issued by the government of India to every individual resident of India.  The management and identification of the processes relating to the Aadhaar are managed by the UIDAI. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), is the sole body held in charge for the Aadhaar. This independent body functions under the Planning Commission of India. The Planning commission is responsible for managing Aadhaar numbers, codes and Aadhaar identification cards.

The main motive behind the execution of the Aadhaar project was to opt for having a single and completely unique identification document having a separate number that would become the sole basis for recording all the details, including the demographic and biometric information, of every resident Indian individual.
Currently, there already is a long list of essential identity documents in India.

This list includes the following:

The Aadhaar card will not act as an alternative to these identification documents but it can be used as an independent proof of identification in any proceeding of the Indian government.
The Aadhaar is also eligible to serve as the foremost basis for Know Your Customer (KYC) norms used by, financial institutions, banks, telecom firms and other businesses that maintain customer profiles. Aadhaar numbers will eventually qualify for being the basis for a database through which each and every Indian resident will be able to make use of services that were otherwise denied to them due to lack of identification documents.

How do I apply for an Aadhaar?

The process of applying for an Aadhar card by a resident Indian is fairly easy. You can apply for the Aadhaar card as well as number by submitting the existing proof of identity (passport, PAN card, driving license, etc.) and proof of address (phone/ power bill, bank statements, etc.) and by undergoing biometric profiling (fingerprints and iris scan) at any authorized Aadhaar center.
The Aadhaar is an excellent mode of identification launched by the Indian government. This method has helped in overcoming the hassles which were faced by a section of the population in India. With this initiative, people have got some respite from the ongoing messy paperwork and obstacles which used to burden them.
